              Allura Story

In a process originally developed for NASA, microscopic coatings of semi-precious metals, such as titanium and magnesium, are applied to the surface of glass in a vacuum chamber.  These coatings allow certain wavelengths of light to pass through, while reflecting  others.  We see the results of the "Dichroic" filtering process as stunning, intense colors. 

Our artists assemble combinations of our custom dichroic glass with other types of glass, which then are fused together in special high temperature kilns multiple times, often at temperatures of over 1500 degrees. Finally, the gems are ground, polished and findings added.  Our proprietary process allows us to replicate the designs you see.
